40th death anniversary of Mukesh – Mukesh Chand Mathur (22 July 1923 – 27 August 1976), better known mononymously as Mukesh, was an Indian playback singer of Hindi movies. Along with Mohammad Rafi, Manna Dey and Kishore Kumar, he was one of the most popular singers of his era. Amongst the numerous nominations and awards he won, his song “Kai Baar Yuhi Dekha Hai” from film Rajnigandha (1973) won him the National Film Award for Best Male Playback Singer. Mukesh is also popular as being the voice of legendary actor Raj Kapoor.

106th death anniversary of William James – an American philosopher and psychologist who was also trained as a physician. The first educator to offer a psychology course in the United States, James was one of the leading thinkers of the late nineteenth century and is believed by many to be one of the most influential philosophers the United States has ever produced, while others have labelled him the “Father of American psychology”.
95th birth anniversary of Ben Bradlee – Benjamin Crowninshield “Ben” Bradlee (August 26, 1921 – October 21, 2014) was executive editor of The Washington Post from 1968 to 1991.[1] He became a national figure during the presidency of Richard Nixon, when he challenged the federal government over the right to publish the Pentagon Papers and oversaw the publication of Bob Woodward’s and Carl Bernstein’s stories documenting the Watergate scandal. At his death he held the title of vice president at-large of the Post.
